NEGOTIATED PURCHASES SUMMARIES BELOW

DTN COMMENT:   Formula totals for last week were lower in three major feeding 
areas: KS 55,995(-7,771), NE 47,888(-6,592), TX 65,670(-8,505). Total trade 
volume was also lower in all three major feeding states:  KS 61,138(-7,965), 
NE 67,233(-1,445), TX 71,377(-5,984). New showlists appear to be somewhat 
higher in Texas, and higher in Kansas, and Nebraska/Colorado. Bids and asking 
prices have yet to be established, and significant trade volume will likely be 
delayed until the second half of the week.

Beef cutouts are higher at midday (Choice 311.85 +1.33, Select 276.76 +2.46), 
with very light box movement (13.77 lds of choice cuts, 6.97 lds of select 
cuts, 0.00 lds of trim, and 3.26 lds of ground). Cattle futures near the top 
of the noon hour are mostly sharply lower on live cattle contracts, and 
sharply lower on feeder issues.
