DTN COMMENTS: A few dressed bids are on the table this morning in parts
of Nebraska, and Texas, but the rest of cattle country is slow to start.
Asking prices are around $228 to $230 in the South, and $380-plus in the
North. Packer inquiry should improve over the next several hours. Beef
cutouts are expected to be lower with light to moderate box movement.
So far this week just a handful of business has been reported but
certainly not enough to set any kind of an accurate trend. Having said
that a source has reported that late yesterday a light test was reported
in parts of the North at $380, by a Regional.
NOTE: Feedlots are encouraged to call DTN with any cattle sales, at
1-402-461-3561. All sales will be listed anonymously and organized by
state. All live sales are FOB and set for 1-9-day delivery. A weekly
summary from this data will be posted on the Weekly Cattle Sales Reported
to DTN page and will be left up for the entire week for reference
purposes.
